Thanks for your interest in the 76th Fighter Squadron’s UPT Hiring board. The hiring board has been moved to August of 2019, so expect an application deadline of sometime in July. Our plan will be to hire 1 person (with an alternate) to send to OTS, UPT, and A-10 FTU. Someone asked if we would be hiring civilians, and the answer is absolutely! For this UPT board, our primary candidate is someone who is finishing/has recently finished their degree and has some flight experience. We will, of course, consider people with military backgrounds as well. Point being—you don’t need to have a military background to apply.
Many people have inquired about visiting the unit, and visits are welcomed and highly encouraged. Below is a list of our drill weekends:
July 13/14 (application deadline TBD but will be in July)
For now, make sure you have a plan to have your AFOQT, TBAS, and PCSM complete by 1 July. More information with exact application details will be sent out in a few weeks. In the meantime, feel free to send whatever scores/resumés/rec letters/flight experience/packages you have built, so the squadron can start getting to know each of you. Just email a digital copy to 76FSHiring@gmail.com.
You can expect that once we review all the applications, we will send out invites in July to the candidates that will be interviewed during August drill.
Finally, we will review all applications, but the point of this board is to send a candidate to UPT. For all the military pilots looking to transfer to A-10, this is a UPT board. We don’t have any slots at the moment to train up pilots from other non-fighter aircraft.
More info soon.
