Position Summary

Turnberry is seeking qualified Pilot candidates for a Global 5000 aircraft based in Miami-Opa Locka Executive Airport (KOPF), FL. The First Officer is responsible for assisting the Chief Pilot with the safe and efficient conduct of the flight assignment. They must be thoroughly knowledgeable of and comply with the Company GOM, Operations Specifications, LOAs, FAA Regulations, Aircraft Flight and Equipment manuals as well as any other information required for each flight. The Chief Pilot is the final authority as to the operation of the aircraft.

 

Responsibilities:

Liaising with the air traffic controllers to ensure the accuracy of the flight plan reflects the expected circumstances of the flight
Understanding and interpreting data from instruments and controls
Making regular checks on the aircraft’s technical performance and position, on weather conditions and air traffic during flight
Communicating with the Dispatcher/Scheduler for all flight details and changes
Communicating with passengers using the public address system
Reacting quickly and appropriately to environmental changes and emergencies
Updating the aircraft log book on a daily basis on the status of the journey
Carrying out pre-flight checks on the navigation and operating systems
Communicating with air traffic control prior to take-off and during flight and landing
Ensuring noise regulations are followed during take-off and landing
Writing a report at the end of the flight noting any incidents or problems experienced with the aircraft throughout the journey
Calculating how much fuel to take, and supervising the loading and fueling of the aircraft
Ensuring all safety systems are working properly
Operating the aircraft safely and economically to maximize on its ability and ensure the company spends minimally for every trip
Ensuring that every instrument in the aircraft is checked before and after take-off to ensure a safe and trouble free journey
Ensuring information about the route, weather, passengers and aircraft are correct
Analyzing the flight plan, including the route and flying altitude, to ensure it accurately reflects the expected circumstances of the flight
Coordinate all flights with Turnberry Scheduler and/or 135 partner
Complete company and/or 135 partner flight logs accurate and complete
Detail all personal expenses on expense reports in a timely manner
Make best fuel financial decisions during the operation of the aircraft

Qualifications:

Must be type rated in the aircraft. (Current and qualified)
Must have a current First Class FAA Medical Certificate
Will require a full background check

 

Requirements:

While on duty may be away from home for seven or more days and nights, staying in hotels
Must be able to secure appropriate airport authority and/or US Customs security badges
Must be able to pass Transportation Security Administration required background screening, secure appropriate airport authority and/or US Customs security badges
Must have a valid State driver’s license
Must be able to read, write, fluently speak and understand the English language
Must be service-oriented with a neat, well-groomed appearance and a demonstrated ability to make a positive impression including a strong capability to effectively interact with passengers
Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills, especially under pressure
Must demonstrate the ability to make quick and accurate decisions while paying close attention to detail, both technically and from a passenger-service perspective
Must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects
Must be able to work around animals, including the handling and care prior to, during and after Owner flights
