Good afternoon everyone!

(I apologize in advance if this is not the right question for this forum)

Running into an issue as a civilian.. I have taken the tbas but cannot seem to get any traction in securing a base pass to take the TBAS). No help from recruiters either it seems like. Any tips and tricks?

Hey, Max! Nice to see a fellow Gamecock interested in some Guard flying. If you’re interested in heading back to the Palmetto State, SC Air Guard has a fighter unit right outside of Columbia: the 169th Fighter Wing. I was a ‘traditional Guardsman’ there while attending UofSC, and it was a great unit. Thought I should throw that out there.

If you are considering enlisting in one of these units, it could open the door for you, but it also might just delay your goals because you could be stuck in an enlistment/training/deployment/etc when an opening in the squadron comes up. I’ve had friends who have gotten their pilot…
