        BD Crew,

In the mad dash to get hired to fly jets, it is likely easy to forget what else you are signing up for: an officer commission in the front of the greatest aerial organization on Earth. Flying is the final product of a long line of effort by the largely enlisted functions of the USAF. Least among these are the crew chiefs who take care of launching, recovering, and turning jets day in and day out. Absolute professionals who make flying safe, effective, and joyful. There are a lot of crew chiefs here at BogiDope. If you get the chance, pick these guys and gals brains about all things military. They have done the training, deployments, family separations, long nights, and short days. All the things that glossy brochure of flying jets leaves out.
