Bonuses! Something that is thrown around a lot when joining the military. Some enlistment bonuses in the Guard/Res are up to $90k! However as a UPT candidate you shouldn’t expect a bonus. When you put on your wings your 10 year commitment starts and the man’s got ya! After that 10 year is complete then you become bonus eligible. What the bonus is changes each year so don’t expect it to be the same unfortunately. There are bonuses for being a full-timer and there are part timer bonuses.

This post is just to enlighten and inform you of expectations as a pilot since you see “bonuses” all over recruiting tools. Things can always change but this is pretty typical of what to expect.
