About the Host:
John got his start flying a C-152 with a Texas tailwheel conversion during high school. His first flight was on September 10th, 2001. The events of the following day propelled him on a path to serve his country. John was fortunate to be able to serve his country and pursue his passion for aviation in the U.S. Air Force.
While in the Air Force John served as a T-6II First Assignment Instructor Pilot, an MC-12 (King Air 350) pilot and mission commander, and ultimately an F-16 pilot. During his time in the Air Force, John amassed over 2,700 flying hours. Over 960 combat hours conducting 128 combat missions during Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Inherent Resolve. John’s final flying assignment in the Air Force was the commander and pilot for the Air Combat Command’s F-16 Viper Demo team. During his time on the demo team, John flew over 300 demonstration sorties, across 50 show sites, in 5 countries.
John has traded in his 28,000 pound F-16 for a 766,000 pound Boeing 777 as he begins to pursue a career in civilian aviation. He continues to chase his passion for aviation in the general aviation community.
