Vinny Nguyen

Dr. Vincent Nguyen was selected for an Air National Guard C-17 UPT slot in 2021. He subsequently went through OTS, and completed UPT at Columbus AFB. He is now a drill status guardsman (DSG) C-17 pilot with recent experience on the UPT Hiring Board. Vinny grew up always wanting to be an Air Force pilot but focused on becoming a Board Certified doctor first. Having had an entire separate career prior to UPT, he is passionate about helping others pursue their dreams and earn a UPT slot. He is well versed in high stakes interviews having experience being on multiple medical school, residency and UPT hiring boards.

Dr. Nguyen grew up in Texas and obtained both a Bachelor of Science and an M.D. He completed medical school and residency prior to attending OTS and is board certified in Family Medicine. He is a Senior Aviation Medical Examiner (AME) for the FAA and does hundreds of exams annually. Vinny currently lives in Houston, TX where he works at the largest hospital system in TX, runs his AME clinic and is an instructor in clinical medicine for a medical school.
