Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers on what's free, what's paid, and what each plan commits you to.

Is applying to Guard and Reserve units free?
Yes. Every squadron listing, every job posting and every application on MilRecruiter is free, and always will be. You never pay to apply. Membership is for the preparation: the ACE score, courses, debriefs, coaching and the consolidated Job Board that helps you track it all.
What's the difference between Free and Job Board?
Free gives you the full squadron directory and unlimited applications. The job information is all there; you just have to go squadron by squadron to find it. Job Board pulls every open pilot position into one consolidated list with deadlines, new postings and changes, so you can see the whole hiring picture at a glance and never miss a suspense. Nothing else changes: same directory, same applications, same community access.
What does the 12-month plan commit me to?
Twelve monthly payments at the discounted rate. You can upgrade at any time, and you can cancel or move to a lower plan once your twelfth payment has posted. After that the membership simply continues month to month at the same rate until you cancel. Your account page shows exactly which payment you're on and the date your options open up. The 30-day money-back guarantee still applies to your first payment.
Can I upgrade or downgrade later?
Yes. Job Board, Pro and Elite are tiers of one membership, so you switch between them from your account page and we prorate the difference. Upgrades take effect immediately. Monthly members can move down or cancel at any time; 12-month members can move down after the commitment ends.
Which plan is right for me?
Still exploring whether military flying is for you? Start Free. Actively applying and want every opening in one place? Job Board. Building a competitive package and want to know exactly where you stand and what to fix next? Pro. Want a coach in your corner through the whole process? Elite. If you're not sure, start lower and upgrade when you need more; you lose nothing by waiting.
How does the 30-day money-back guarantee work?
If a paid plan isn't what you expected, email us within 30 days of your first payment and we refund it in full. No forms, no questions about why.
What happens when I get hired?
First, tell us. Members who earn a UPT slot get a custom engraved bottle from us and the community gets to celebrate with you. Then keep or cancel your membership as you like; many members stay through training for the pilot-training content and the network, and monthly plans can be cancelled from your account page whenever you're ready.
Do I need separate accounts for BogiDope and MilRecruiter?
No. One login works on both. Create your free account here and it's live on MilRecruiter the same minute, with your membership level carried across automatically.
