Hello, I am looking for clarification about the steps necessary for Army Warrant Officer aviators looking to move to greener pastures.

For better context, I joined the Army directly into aviation after finishing high school. I will be leaving the Army to attend school full time and will have approximately a two year break in service. I am looking to join through the Air National Guard preferably in a fixed wing unit. I understand the process of applying varies amongst different ANG squadrons. However, I do have a few questions about the overall process.

When should I start applying? I have read to apply one year out from finishing school.

Will my break in service affect my application process? Looking about requirements of AFOQT and PCSM.

If anyone has better insight in this process, it would be greatly appreciated! Thank you for your time

This is crazy reading this. I am in the same boat. I’m currently flying AH-64’s and am also looking to transfer out of the army and work my way towards landing a position with an air national guard unit. Preferably a fighter wing unit. Let me know if you learn anything.
