Radio Silence From Unit With Interview Approaching in 17 Days
So back over the summer, a C-130 unit asked me to send in an app for a Nav/CSO position. I sent one in and a couple of weeks later the Major that I sent it into, told me that there will be a Nov board for the first weekend in Nov on Nov 2nd and a Lt. Col. will reach out to me soon. About a month goes by and radio silence. So I text the Major, he emails the Lt. Col. The Lt. Col. sends me an email saying only to reach out to him and as he’s not a full timer he can’t always quickly respond (understandable) and that he will provide details about the board in October. I apologize and let it go for 30 days.
30 days later, I sent an email 7 days ago simply asking if there is any info on the November 2nd board. No response. It’s still radio silence and the interview is 17 days away.
Should I try reaching out again or that time back in September when I reached out to the Major, could I have pissed off the Lt. Col. and have now been ghosted for it? Maybe I have been taken off the interview list?
Should I go ahead and book a flight/pay for interview prep?
It’s an odd situation and there isn’t a ton of interview on what to do. Is it normal to not to here details until really close until the interview? When I have gotten TBNT in the past for pilot boards, I usually know months before the interview dates. Usually people I know who got the interviews, usually know everything a few months in advance.
