Have you considered becoming an RPA pilot? You’ll have a higher age cap (I believe it’s around 40 years old) and will likely see some action.

    Hey KevTryFly,

There are waivers for most things – you don’t know until you try (and keep trying until you reach your goal). I was told “Thank you for applying but we have selected someone else” more times than I can remember over a 3-4yr span before I was selected by my current unit.

The best bet is to gather as much of your medical documentation that shows what happened, what your treatment was, and show that it has not been a problem since. Letters of recommendation help too. Be upfront with the units you are interviewing with because they will need to submit waiver(s) for you.

    Best of luck!

    Good afternoon everyone!

My name is Clinton, I’m in the MQ-9 pilot training pipeline (currently in IQT) and a former enlisted Security Forces (~10 years). I can answer any questions you have regarding what it took me to get selected and what OTS, RIQ/RFC, and IQT are like (or anything else you have a question about).

Check out my profile if you want my full background – I look forward to chatting with ya and Happy NY!
