Hey man, I’ve found myself thinking recently that I don’t belong here and I’m not good enough to compete with other UPT applicants. As someone who has NOT been preparing their entire life for the AF, and who’s life has been nowhere near aircraft.. I feel like an imposter. I’ve come to realize that no matter what, being yourself is what is most important. Just be you man. Education and everything else alongside that is important, but you yourself are the most important asset over anything else, including the plane. Great men and women come from all types of backgrounds, just make sure you’re there when the opportunity is waiting for you.. if you don’t show up you might miss the chance of a lifetime. 110% will power is necessary. Rich or commonwealth, genius or slow.. you’re able to accomplish anything you out your mind to, the path may not follow your expectations, but you’ll lead yourself to where you want to be. Best of luck!

, from a fellow UPT average Joe.

Hi everyone, Edward Rivera here. I’m a 22 year old college student, Raising Canes employee, and student pilot. Im currently in community college for Associate of Science degrees in Commercial Flight, Aviation Science, and a certification in Aircraft Dispatch @ Mt. San Antonio College, CA. In addition, I am also beginning a degree in Fire Technology @ Crafton Hills College, CA. My interests are primarily aeronautics, astronautics, music production, and firefighting. One fact I’ll share is, I have my Diamond eyes set on applying to the 185th for the opportunity to fly the OA-1K, but I’d be happy to fly any platform for the Air Force regardless of where my destiny takes me.
