Yeah I feel like naturally I’ll be curious about everyone else. I’ll be sure to focus on my stuff, I already have a flight physical and 2992, just not a pilot one. I’m confident my vision and everything else is good.
I guess I’m more curious/worried about the retina topography check, but I guess I don’t really have any control over that stuff…

Awesome, yeah all my pilot co-workers in the RPA career field are like, “yeah don’t bring anything up that’s not diagnosed or written in your record”.
seems like a don’t give them ammunition type deal. So I’m excited to finally head out there. Step 1 to getting to OTS then UPT finally since my selection last October. It’s wild how long this…

Finally headed to Wright Patterson for my pilot physical after getting picked up for UPT last October. I’m overall a healthy guy and my current medical history isn’t anything crazy worth worrying about besides a couple broken bones, that don’t have any lasting effects.
Is there anyone here thats willing to share their insight into this as I…

Might be able to request a special 4 day pass! That should give me plenty of time to knock that out. Thanks for the help!

Thanks for all these tips! I’m actually on MPA at the moment and leadership says PTDY doesn’t align with the contingency. And I’m not given any drill days because I’m “constructively present” under my full time MPA and don’t have breaks.
I have AT but my WG/CC denied travel funds with it because my sponsoring unit should be funding the trip…

Initial first class. I guess that’s what my initial pilot physical is called at wright Patterson when I don’t have another flight physical on file.

Sooooo I was scheduled for my IFC last week but had to cancel because of a lack of TDY funds.. Of course my piloting future comes down to a lack of funding from big blue. I was wondering if anyone knows alternatives to procuring funding to attending IFC or if anyone knows if I can attend IFC on my own dime while not on a status (MPA, AT,…

Hey Nell! When I wrote my letters I had several that were addressed differently depending on the board I was applying for. Guard and reserve were addressed to NGB/AFRC but also specifically to the unit I was rushing and/or applying towards. My Group CC addressed it to “Air Force Officer Selection Board”. For AD, I’d probably address “UFT Board…

Got selected for a pilot slot with a Reserve squadron and they’re working on putting my UPT package together for the upcoming UPT board. How long after the board convenes does it take to know whether or not you got the slot? Then what’s next? Super stoked, but now it seems like hurry up and wait lol…

@MANDO_ Congrats! Here’s a quote from the AFRC UFT Handbook: “Board results are usually released at or near the end of the month in which the board convened.”
I’d expect that shortly after the board convenes, you should get the thumbs up from your sponsoring unit. If you had a unit sponsor you… I can’t imagine the board would deny you.… Read more

Templates/Example Intro Letters for UPT Boards
I have begun rushing units that I am interested in joining for Pilot opportunities and some have reached out directly asking for Intro Letters, along with other items. Does anyone have a great example they used to land pilot positions throughout the Air Force? TIA!
