Let’s talk about your socials
Behind the scenes, each unit is trying to find everything out they can about you – your socials are part of this. Remember, you gave the unit a lot of data – phone number, email, schools, etc.- and from there, it’s pretty easy to find your digital presence.
So…should you delete everything? Go totally dark? Maybe, maybe not. First, deleting your socials and the zombie echoes on the web is tough, and they might have value in your life. Also, socials are a regular part of life. So perhaps a better option is to restrict and curate.
Check the settings of your socials and try to make yourself less public. Your friends and family can see you, but a Google search won’t provide every post you’ve ever made. Also, review your page and any posts in the wild and see if any are…less than interview-worthy. Just take a little time each day when you might have been doomscrolling and instead go through the old stuff, and if it’s publicly accessible, ask – do I want to answer for this in front of a board?
Cheers!
