Future Fighter Pilots of BogiDope,

I wanted to share a little insight with those getting started in the UPT process and looking at Guard/ Reserve Fighter Units.

I usually brief the following key benchmarks to shoot for as you build your application:

-90+ AFOQT Pilot/ PCSM

-PPL w/ 60+ Hours (Minimum)

-3.0 or higher College GPA

While there is no exact answer for what makes you competitive, these three things are a good place to start.

  Hey chaos thanks for the insight! I’m 99 Pilot, 97 PCSM, 240hours and 2.4 GPA, would I still be competitive?

    Sorry for the delay, just seeing this. I’ll give you the advice I always tell anyone that is missing any of these “benchmarks.” Go out and rush units!
    
    That’s really the best way to battle back from anything outside the normal hiring criteria.
    
    All said you wouldn’t be the first Guard Fighter Pilot to have a GPA under 3.
