Spooky In the Stack

I have a love/hate relationship with the AC-130. Because when you show up in the CAS stack and they AC-130 is on station. You’re not getting any of the fun stuff. Sure, go look at this road and report, mabye keep and eye on the LZ but nothing important. Because it’s got all that way handled.

I think the thing I’m most jealous of is that map table you see halfway through. For all the times I’ve tried to desperately plot a position on some folded sheet of paper strapped to my left knee – dimly illuminated by a lip light (worse yet finger light); trying not to spill my rip-it that i’ve wedged in the triangle between my legs and the ejection handle.

Hate it (well jealous) for all that, love it for the CAS it provides the joes.
