It can happen. However, in my humble experience as a Sq/CC, the most-likely obstacle was simply a delay for acquiring a medical waiver, not an outright disqualification. Our medical pros on staff can probably provide specific information to your particular case.

I can’t stress enough the importance of documenting *everything* from your medical provider regarding the medical condition, particularly documentation that speaks to your full recovery, or absence of any duty-limiting conditions. This is absolutely critical for timely resolution of any waivers.

My two mantras when it comes to medical issues:

“It’s not what you say, it’s what you can prove”

“If there’s a will, there’s a waiver!”

I agree with Sharky! Start now “owning” your health as it is a critical factor in keeping your military position and eventually your employment in the aviation industry.

Keep good records and keep your status up to date.

Well We will see what happens. I want to clarifiy I am in a pre review stage by a flight doc to determine if they will allow me to come to my flight physical.

I have a current ATC physical as an AGR dual rated controller. I had to go through this process just to get cleared by MEPS to apply to the Reserve board. I am just a bit nervous, I chose to attend counseling. after my household split up. Still attending, It has been pretty basic and nothing extreme, I am working on getting a letter from the office to submit. I just wanted to make sure if for some reason I failed that review I still had options. I am very fortunate that I stilll have a great position even if it does not work out. Ill be sure to get in touch with the professional team if needed!
