Not wide spread knowledge but the US Army has a fixed aviation capability. Unfortunately right now they are going through a transition from one platform to another which will leave a gap for several years. For those interested they are still looking forward for fixed and other long range aircraft. Here is a good article on what they are looking for for FLRAA (Future long range assault aircraft)
