Not in accordance with FJF, super interesting news coming to light this week in the air-to-ground game (sorry SLAP). The USMC has successfully tested an unspecified long-range precision strike capability off the rails of a helo….cued by an Android tablet. While the details remain classified, the name of the game now is standoff. This likely greatly increases the AH-1Z survivability as well as accuracy. Seeing as well that the USMC still holds the Forward Air Control torch high, the ability to cue sensors and weapons from beyond visual range is a powerful tool in the toolkit.
