Leaving army aviation to pursue AF pilot career.

I actually made an account to comment after seeing your post; I did a similar route and had 0 issues. There’s a lot of bad information out there, especially some rumors that commissioning into the AF as prior service is difficult/impossible etc.
Take your tests, work towards your PPL, and send out the interviews. That’s all there is to it!

Hello. I too am considering leaving Army Aviation to persue the airforce. My question is, does being a rated rotary wing pilot in the Army help me stand out against the competition when dropping an application? Or do the units only care about test scores?
Also, I understand there can be hundreds of applicants for positions, what else can I do to stand out? Higher education? More fixed wing experience? Thanks in advanced!

That was the route I took. Completed command, started applying and made the jump. It’s a LONG, complicated and often times frustrating road, but it’s doable. I highly suggest setting up a general strategy session with me to discuss the best route forward! Best of luck!
