How often do you fly in ANG
This is just a random question I’ve been thinking of and can’t really find an answer too. How often do ANG pilots fly? I assume it’s less than active duty. I do know you need to maintain currency in your airframe, and I’m sure heavies/fighters are different. Is it a couple times a week or more like a month?

It depends! But in general, I fly 6-12 times a month.
The most important factors:
1) Type of aircraft (fighters, heavy, help)
2) Sorites available (# of healthy jets vs # of pilots)
3) You!
As a full time IP in a fighter unit 12 was normal; I had a couple of months with 20.
As a part-timer I averaged 7.
It’s so variable from unit to unit that it’s a great question to ask any place you visit.
