    Hi!

So I’m curious if anyone knows of any units that are willing to sponsor someone without a PPL. The reason for no PPL is because of where I live the planes are tough to schedule, very few check airman, and the winds are usually always out of limits for students. My age is 30, I’ve been applying for Units but never land an interview and my LOR’s are from Squadron/Wing commanders. Happy to apply anywhere but definitely want to focus my rushing towards units that are willing to even consider me as its difficult to take drill weekends off from my normal unit.

    My background includes:

Bachelors in Business Management from Oregon state University

Masters in Organization Leadership from Colorado State University

787 Fleet Technical Instructor for United Airlines

C-17A Evaluator Loadmaster for Air Force Reserves

NCAA Volleyball Line Judge- Big 12, Pac 12, MW, Big Sky

    Achievements:

Operation Deep Freeze – Antarctic Service medal

816 EAS NCO of the Quarter

446 AW NCO of the Quarter

Having the ticket is ideal, but having hours towards the goal will be enough for some units to take a look. I think solo is probably the minimum table stakes.

I know it could be “cost prohibitive”, but have you considered going to a Flight School that could get you your license in a “short” time?

Also, getting to solo is important, IMHO. Maybe consider asking a flight school if they could help you with that?

Let me know how I can help you on this journey!
