    Hey folks,

Just looking for any recommendations on books or podcasts about Air Force aviation, specifically the tanker community so C-130, C-17 or C-5.

I am familiar with TAP and have listened to the episode with Slap, which I enjoyed.

This may not specifically be what you’re looking for, but you may be interested in this:

    IHC Nole–

    I have a few book recommendations…

“Over the Hump” by Lt. Gen William Tunner. Considered a classic of the Air Mobility world, Tunner led the US efforts in China aerial resupply over the Himalayas in WWII as well as the Berlin Airlift. Lots of foundational stuff that formed the air mobility culture of the modern AMC.

“Seventy-Five Years of Inflight Refueling” Richard K. Smith. An approachable USAF-commissioned summary of the development of the USAF tanker fleet from the “Question Mark” to the KC-135/KC-10. It’s available online here:

    Cheers, Sharky

I recently read ‘Tanker Pilot: Lessons from the Cockpit’ by Mark Hasara. It is a quick read but focuses more on the operational level of Tankers rather than the actual flying.
