    Hi All,

I’ve just started applying to ANG units and wanted to see if there was anything I could still do from a background/resume building perspective, or if my effort should be focused on rushing/building relationships at this point. Hoping to apply to fighters but know my age is starting to creep.

    25 y/o

    97 Pilot 92 CSO 98 ABM 93 AA 89 V 91 Q

    99 PCSM

    BS Aerospace Engineering 3.14 GPA

PPL w/ 152 hours working towards IR

LOR from manager, CFI, and retired USMC pilot (DFC recipient flying CH-46E, Cessna Citation 550, HMX-1)

Active TS clearance working 4 years for DoD contractors as a SATCOM Engineer

    Thanks in advance!

Good morning and thanks for the post. This is a great question; because once the “requirements” have been met it feels a little helpless, like there’s nothing left to do.

You have a great starting point with scores, experience, and a security clearance. My recommendation now is to focus on your “achievements and other activities” that usually comes at the end of the 1-page resume. Get involved with things that help paint the picture of a “well-rounded” individual through your free-time and volunteer activities. Your goal is to stand out from the crowd, and sometimes having unique experiences will make the right connection with folks on the hiring board and will garner their interest to want to learn more!

    Best of luck!
