I took my most recent AFOQT at Camp Pendleton through PearsonVUE. You can try reaching out to Camp Pendleton’s Education Center and see if they can give you the test control code to sign up for the AFOQT. I’m a Reservist out at March so my base education office provided me with a code.

    Try LA Spaceforce base.

    Base Education Office (310) 653-5358

Let me know how that goes!

I was able to get in contact with the education center at Nellis Air Force Base. Since I am a civilian, they said they could not help and that I should talk to a recruiter.

Im kinda at a lost now, because Im going in circles at this point 🙃

The education center at Vandenberg Space Force Base got back to me as well, they are not able to help.

Could you talk to a recruiter outside of your area, maybe near a squadron you want to apply to? Once I got the code to sign up from the recruiter I was able to take the test at my local community college’s testing center.

    Hey Randy,

I live in Orange County and took my TBAS at SFB LA, and it was a great experience. I highly recommend you take your TBAS there. Regarding the AFOQT, I recommend taking it at a PearsonVue test center. More specifically, “Quality Tutoring Services” off of Euclid in Anaheim, if you’re local to that area. I have taken over five tests there, including my AFOQT. It is a great testing center with a chill vibe (run by college students who are not super strict). In my experience, a few weeks before you plan on taking the AFOQT, your recruiter gives you a code to book your AFOQT on the Pearson website. Pearson is nice because you do not have to go through any other military formalities after receiving the booking code from your recruiter; it is a well-oiled machine. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions or still can not contact your recruiter. I know a few recruiters at March ARB who would be more than willing to help! Have a great rest of your week.

Thanks for the response guys! I think I’m going to wait a lil bit longer for the recruiter from Temecula to get back to me. Hopefully, then I can get a voucher code.

I reside in the San Fernando Valley and Westwood areas, willing to commute if need be for test taking in any part of SoCal as well. I need to schedule my first attempt for the TBAS asap, I will need to take the AFOQT later this year as I prepare. Seems like I need to first get in contact with a recruiter to schedule both. From what I read here the TBAS is taken with the Air Force at a base, AFOQT seems to require a code and allows you to take it at an approved test-taking facility? Posting here for my own support.

Hey Kyle if you are like me (A Civilian), You have two options to take the AFOQT:

      1. You get sponsored by a unit/recruiter/ROTC Detachment to go on base to take the AFOQT at an education center on a military installation.

      OR

      2. You take the AFOQT at a third-party testing site of your choosing, but you will need to make a Pearson-Vue account and will also need a voucher code to schedule the AFOQT (This is the step I’m taking)

I’m pretty positive you have to take the AFOQT first in order to do the TBAS, if I’m not mistaken. Also, if you have any flight hours those hours count towards your TBAS score.
