Scheduling AFOQT

  • Posted by tsssnake on October 21, 2024 at 6:12 pm

I know this is the most basic question but I have been trying to schedule the AFOQT for about 2 months now. ROTC units tell me they don’t let people outside their programs take it anymore through them. Recruiters for the Air Guard are near impossible to get a hold of or just tell me they’ll get back to me. I’ve talked to tons of bases and its all about the same. I don’t want to go active duty but will an active duty recruiter let me take the test through them?

Not sure where you’re located but you can contact the education center on a base and try to schedule it that way. Hanscom AFB in MA was really good about that.

I’m located in TX but would go anywhere to get this step done with. When talking to some of the education centers around me, they told me I’d have to get sponsorship from someone on base to take the test

This probably isn’t helpful, but if all it takes is for someone to get you a visitor pass (sponsor) to get on base and take the test, I could help if you were in the DC area. There are tons of bases in TX though so I would think someone much closer to you could help. Maybe one of the guys going through UPT at Laughlin or Sheppard could sponsor you on base?

Going to try and get it done in TX if I can but I appreciate your offer! Who knows I might have to take you up on it

I’m based in Texas and had the same problem. Took me probably 6 or 7 months to get one scheduled. I called Baylor ROTC and they were able to give me a Pearson voucher code to take the test through a testing center.

ROTC units must’ve changed the rules recently. I called and none of them are allowing outsiders to schedule through them

Find the phone number of the education center at the base you want to test at. Keep calling and ask to be directed to the AFOQT POC. At Luke AFB, she was a civilian contractor. Super sweet lady, was a little confused how I got a hold of her but she let me test with everyone else. Only stipulation was i had to find my own way on base, found a friend of a friend with a buddy that was an LTC and he emailed the visitor center to sign off on my base pass ahead of time. Hope this helps!

One thing that worked for me that I haven’t seen anyone chime in with yet is getting in contact with a local ANG unit’s force development office. I found their phone number on their website under a recruiting tab for UPT. After calling them and explaining my situation, they emailed me a few forms to fill out and after sending them back, I had a PearsonVue voucher code for the AFOQT which allowed me to take the test at any Pearson testing site.

I know every unit is different and I had to look at a few different unit’s websites until I found this info. If you can’t find anything, directly calling the recruiting offices for these units might help or you can message me and I can send you the link from the unit that helped me.
