    Hey Folks,

My name is Daniel Jones, callsign Chin Diesel, and I am a a current Navy E-2D pilot with VAW-117 “Wallbangers”. While I know this website is very focused on both civilian and Air Force flying, I am here to provide perspective on the Navy and becoming a naval aviator. I can tell you taking off and landing on the boat is just as exhilarating as it sounds, but there are pluses and minuses to living aboard an aircraft carrier for work up periods and deployments. Let me know if you have any questions about life in the Navy or how to get through specific stages of the application process and training.

Hello Chin! Was the E-2 your first preference when you went through flight school? Also, what commissioning source did you go through?
