Use of Watch on AFOQT?

    Good evening,

I purchased a cheap watch with a vibration alarm that I have been using to prepare for the AFOQT. It may be viewed as a crutch by some, but I do feel that it has significantly helped me with managing my time in the practice tests and, if allowed, I believe that this would contribute to my success on the actual test. I am testing later this week for attempt 2/2 and received an email from Pearson Vue that states IAW AFMAN 36-2664No personal items may be taken into the testing room. This includes all bags, books not authorized by the sponsor, notes, phones, pagers, watches, and wallets.

When I Researched the AFMAN 2664 I found the applicable information:

4.3.3.1.5. Prohibit the possession of any personal electronic devices (to include, but not limited to, smart watches, pagers, cell phones, camera phones, calculating devices, fitness devices, or any other item which could be used to gather, store, copy, reproduce, transmit, or receive data). T-1

Where this is a dumb watch and not a smart watch, can this reg be interpreted to allow a dumb watch? Or where this reg says to include, but not limited to, should I expect to test without the watch? If you were in my shoes would you contact the testing center to see if they will allow the use of a dumb watch to time the sessions? Worst they’re going to say is no, right? I am wondering if anyone in the Bogidope community has had firsthand experience testing for the AFOQT with/without a watch. Did your testing center allow you to bring a watch?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated,

    Jay

Update: The testing facility would not allow the watch so I called Pearson Vue. They looked at the reg I mentioned above and confirmed that a standard watch is allowed and they coordinated this with the testing facility. I will be using my timer with a vibrating alarm on the test this week. I wanted to share this experience in case anyone else on here is taking the AFOQT and wants to use a watch to manage their time, but is experiencing a similar issue with the testing facility.
