Currently, we are looking for a Pilot, Captain to join the ArcBest team. The Pilot, Captain provides safe and dependable transportation for Company Executives, employees, and guests under FAR Part 91 operations. The aircrafts are also utilized in outside charter operations when not required for company use, so all crew will be FAR Part 135 qualified and trained, and subject to Part 135 regulations
Your Contribution May Include
Act as Pilot-In-Command or Second-In-Command on Corporate aircraft, as required under FAR Part 91 rules or under FAR Part 135, as required for a specific flight.
Perform both PIC and SIC duties include those generally recognized by industry standard, including, but not limited to, appropriate actions as a flight crew member such as: systems familiarity, initial and recurrent training, flight planning (including destination arrangements), aircraft preflight, fuel planning and loading, in-flight procedures, and decision making, considerations of passenger comfort, and post-flight duties.
Each Pilot is charged with being familiar with accomplishing required or requested record keeping (aircraft and personal logs, time sensitive currency checks, trip manifests, weight and balance and performance calculation, etc.).
Each employee of the flight department is expected to assist in general office, hangar, and aircraft upkeep and cleaning.
Each crewmember not only flies the planes, but does whatever is necessary to ensure a safe and comfortable experience for the passengers and provide a positive “face” for the aviation department.
Such duties may or may not apply to a specific flight but are part of a successful corporate flight department.
As a Pilot, Captain, you will be a member of the ArcBest Aviation team in Fort Smith, AR. Your hours will vary depending on flight schedule and destination.

Education: Bachelor’s degree, preferred.
Experience: Experience levels noted above, for hours flown, are generally required, as well as familiarity with corporate flight department operations and culture.
Computer Skills: Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
Certifications: Each crewmember shall also possess a 1st Class Medical Certificate.
Training at a Part 142 facility, including Level D simulation.
Applicant should have, at minimum, Commercial, Instrument, and Multi-Engine Land ratings, and an Airline Transport Rating is desired.
An ATP will act as Pilot-In-Command.
Possession of a type rating for the aircraft currently operated by the company is preferred.
The following total times PIC or SIC times are generally required to serve as a crewmember during FAR Part 135 operations:
For Pilot-In-Command, applicant should have a minimum of 3000 hours total flight time, with 1500 hours acting as PIC, 1500 hours multi-engine time (500 as PIC), and 500 hours turbine.
For Second-In-Command, requirements are 1000 hours total time, with 500 hours PIC, 500 hours multi-engine, and 100 hours of turbine experience.
The preceding time requirements may be waived or amended with the combined approval of the Director of Aviation and the Director of Operations of the Part 135 certificate holder.
