INTRODUCTION TO ROLE

A rapidly growing Mid-Atlantic company is seeking a Corporate Pilot, Second-in-Command for a Piper Chieftain. This is not an entry-level position; expansion of the flight department to include jet aircraft is anticipated soon. A CE-500 PIC-type rating would be a plus for future growth.

Who We Are Looking For

The Corporate Pilot Second-in-Command lives no further than a 1-hour drive from KOXB Airport. Wheels up at 6 am!

What You Will Work On
Acts as Second-in-Command in support of the PIC on flights for which the pilot has been scheduled
Plans assigned flight(s); obtains briefings and current information regarding the purpose of the flight, weather, range, weight and balance, airport facilities, and navigational routes and aids per FAR 91
Prepares, files, activates, and closes flight plans
Contributes toward decisions necessary to start, delay, cancel, and/or deviate a flight from the planned route or destination when operating conditions dictate
Ensures required equipment, navigation databases, and necessary flight publications are current and on board the aircraft
Verifies aircraft maintenance logs and records for required airworthiness inspection currency and performs preflight cockpit and external inspections
Supervises and/or assists in the loading and distribution of passengers and baggage and determines that weight and balance is within prescribed limitations
Ensures baggage is properly secured and provisions for passenger comfort are onboard
Operates aircraft in favorable altitude/airspeed/weather profiles, taking into account turbulence, oxygen requirements, and comfort of passengers during flight
Assists with servicing, storing, and proper care and security of company aircraft and equipment while away from home base; conducts post-flight inspection of aircraft; reports significant aircraft maintenance and service requirements to appropriate management personnel as necessary
Completes all required paperwork before, during and after each flight, including W&B sheets, performance trend monitoring, aircraft discrepancy log, trip log, etc.
Ensures that the aircraft is stocked with passenger convenience items, such as snacks, drinks, newspapers, etc., prior to each flight
Ensures that the aircraft is cleaned and appropriately serviced after each flight

Who You Will Work With

The Corporate Pilot’s Second-in-Command reports to the Corporate Pilot.

YOU BRING

Must hold an FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate with Multiengine and Instrument ratings
Logged Flight Time, including.
1,200 hours of PIC flight time
500 hours of cross-country flight time
75 hours of night flight time
75 hours of total instrument flight time (actual and/or simulated)
500 hours of TAA flight time
Must hold a valid Second-Class Medical Certificate
Must hold a valid United States Passport
Must hold a valid FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit
Must demonstrate a thorough knowledge and meet all applicable flight currency requirements of FAR Part 61
Must demonstrate a thorough knowledge of FAR Part 43 & 91
No recorded FAA accidents or flight restrictions within the last 5 years
Must have logged flight experience in High-Density FAA Class B airspace (e.g., KIAD, KBWI, KPHL)
Excellent teamwork and cross-functional skills
Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills
Ability to make risk management decisions and solve problems analytically and logically
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Dual Given experience preferred
Bachelor’s Degree preferred
The candidate must live or relocate upon hire to within a 1-hour drive of KOXB Airport.
When evaluating the flight time of applicants meeting the basic qualifications, consideration will be given to verifiability, quality, quantity, and recency of experience, the complexity of aircraft flown, and types of flight operations.

Physical Demands

The Corporate Pilot Second-in-Command needs to have excellent vision ability to hear, read, and communicate clearly and effectively. Must be able to work long hours beginning as early as 5 am.
