Float Plane Pilot

Website Newhalen Lodge Alaska

Newhalen Lodge is currently looking for one DHC-2 pilot to join our team for the 2025 summer season. Our lodge is located on 6 mile lake which is between Lake Clarke and Illiamna lake. The season runs June 1-October 9.

Our lodge is family owned and operated and is the oldest original owner lodge in Alaska.

Newhalen Lodge operates under Part 91 and is a fly out fishing lodge that operates 3 DeHavilland Beavers on floats and one Cessna 206 on wheels. Every pilot at our lodge is assigned an airplane that they will fly all season, there is no jumping around between airplanes. Most of our fishing destinations are less than a 50-minute flight from the lodge. Many days our pilots will not fly more than 2 hours, each pilot averages around 150 hours per season. A typical day for a pilot is dropping guides and guests at the fishing location, waiting at said location during the day and then returning to the lodge when fishing is done.

All crew have their own personal cabins, all expenses are paid during the season.
Pilots receive a full tip share avg. $800+ a week
Salary is competitive with industry and will vary depending on pilot experience.
