• One of the things that I advise clients on often is a multi-tiered approach when applying to Rated Line Officer Boards for Active Duty Air Force.The paperwork and prep-work (medically) is basically the same between the different organizations and time is your biggest enemy. Get all the appointments done prior to your first application window, and then you have two more chances at applying. Recruiters have tried for you to expand what jobs (AFSCs) that you would take on your second try. I’ll hold my advice on that depending on your situation.

      As you will see in the chart below, there are basically two chances every year to apply to an Active Duty Board. In comparison to Air National Guard or Air Reserve Units have rolling dates of hire. So if you are looking at either Active Duty or ANG/USAFR; then you may want to time it so you have multiple chances within a year of application. It truly depends on your age, your goals, personal situation and your scores.
