In Top Gun 2 we see Mav throw out the “owners manual” essentially of how to operate the F-18 safely. As a fight pilot it is very important to know how your aircraft performs, how squeeze every bit out, and what to do if you cross the line. In the Viper community we have what we call “Spin school” where one deliberately over saturates the flight computers to put the jet out of control. This helps build trust in the system but also gives real world experience of what to do to recover. This is an opportunity to all pilots and is held at the historic Edwards AFB.
