In simple terms they are an airborne JTAC with the capability to control air strikes and air support. However Forward Air Control – Airborne patch holders are much more. Op Epic Fury made me think how after the first few days of the operation how pivotal it is to have entities like this in the skies. It enhances battlefield capabilities even if active CAS isn’t happening. I’m sure Husky would agree with me being a FAC himself and the training and expertise we have to have going through the training.
