Hey everyone!

My name is Devin Adams and currently on the hunt to get into a unit. I was born in Oklahoma, though I’ve bounced around quite a bit with an Air Force father and grew up predominantly in Pensacola, FL and Anchorage, AL around the Air Force. Enlisted into the Army (despite my father’s best efforts haha) out of high school and went into the 82nd as a Paratrooper. Got out in 2019 and spent some time in the Army Reserves as a Civil Affairs Specialist.

Bounced around for a bit, not knowing what I really wanted to do, and started off school going for a double major in history and archaeology. Inevitably deciding I’d actually like to make money and provide for a family, I learned Utah State had a sizable aviation program and hopped over to that and never looked back. I began in the fixed wing program and earned my private license while dual majored in Aviation Management and Aviation Technology with a minor in Unmanned Aerial Systems.

When Ukraine kicked off, everything in my being called out to go help; and so I did: ending up as a medical volunteer. Going over with some friends who were all combat medics, flight paramedics, and Wildland Search and Rescue, I fell in love with that culture and purpose. Upon coming home, I switched over to the rotary wing side with the hope of maybe getting into the search and rescue role one day.

Now that I’m a year out from graduation, I’ve built up that desire to get back in and serve, pursuing my childhood dream of being a fighter pilot. I realized I just love flying, and got curious about the test pilot career track. Though, for now, just getting to a fighter unit is all I’ve dreamed about. The opportunity to help those dudes on the ground is just gnawing at me after both being that infantryman, and seeing what hell they go through directly.

To round out that self-aggrandizing story, I’m overall just a water bum with my Master Scuba Diver certification with my search and rescue/recovery rating alongside some other miscellaneous fun ones. I have a project sailboat I’ve been working on that I’ve been ripping across the lakes in Utah! Fishing, hiking, and getting into the water is where you’ll find me in my free time.

With my senior year in full swing, I’m currently slumped being the NIFA flight team captain, helicopter representative for the schools safety committee, and secretary for our helicopter club.

This summer I’ve began studying for the AFOQT and have been putting together a package I plan to begin sending out in the Fall. I’d like to get into a fighter unit in the Air Force Guard/Reserves; though, I’ve been toying more and more with active duty Air Force or Navy.

To end my rambling, I’m excited to be on here with all of you dudes and hope I can pick up some tips and knowledge along the way! Thanks again!

Hey dude! When is that rush event going down? Is it invite only or is it open to whoever would like to head out there? I’m still putting my packet together and won’t have my AFOQT done until the end of the summer; but I wouldn’t mind making connections and chatting with dudes early on!
