Hey! Douglas Denny here. I’m looking to learn everything I need to know about getting fighter slots coming from a civilian position.

I’m 23 years old with 1800 civilian hours including 365 single pilot turbine. Just had my first daughter and want to chase my dream harder than ever. If anybody has any advice or wants to chat I’m interested! I’m willing to relocate anywhere halfway decent with my family. Right now I’m living in Kenai Alaska.

I doesn’t look like they’re open to UPT applicants. I’d love to try if they were. Do you have any contacts there that might be able to point me in the right direction? Also, congratulations on the awesome career! I’m trying my best

I’m gonna do everything I can. My life has been a series of ups and downs chasing a dream of flying fast and low. I’ve noticed that the two fighter squadrons open for UPT applicants closed their rushing opportunities and only take digital applications right now. If you know something I don’t I’m open to advice. I don’t have the money for plane tickets to South Dakota or South Carolina right now. But once I do, I’d be more than happy to show up and meet everybody. Moneys always the issue

Thank you for the reply! I’ve decided that I’m going to reach for Gaurd squadrons. So far I have applications in for the 157th, 175th, and 303rd (Angels too cause I love rotorcraft). At this point I’m just dropping apps in every direction. I think in the past I was way too picky. Now I know enough about civilian flying to know how much I need to go for this! I’m gonna see where the fighter and helo applications go then I’ll start applying for C-130/cargo/refuel operations. Though my true goal is flying fighters, I gotta try to fly something right ????
