Has anyone used afoqtpracticetest.com for test prep? I’m particularly interested in feedback from those who have taken the AFOQT and can comment on how comparable the questions are. I’ve watched some of Tutor Gunboss’ webinars, and while they seem similar, I’m cautious about wasting time, especially with my test date approaching on September…

@EricD Tutor Gunboss will take you to the finish line. I’ve used multiple softwares and 6 textbooks, but Gunboss’ material and insight was superior. I spent 9 months studying and scored 99 Pilot / 71 CSO / 99 ABM. Unless you feel ready and absolutely have to take the test on the 21st, I’d take the time to book a couple sessions per week… Read more

If I could do it all over again, I would have just worked with Gunboss. I bought all the study books, they were ok, but working with Gunboss is what helped me get that 96 Pilot score. It really helps to have a personalized studying approach, especially if you are like me and math isn’t your jam.

Tips for Networking with Pilots at Specific Units?
Hello everyone,
I’m trying to figure out the best way to network with pilots at specific units and could use some advice. Is reaching out on LinkedIn too forward, or is that generally okay? I’m really trying not to step on any toes or commit any faux pas while going through this process, but I also understand that making genuine connections…

@SLAP Unfortunately, I have about 1.5 years left, so hoping to start be able to start rushing this summer (thanks to the advice of @CHAOS ) and then start legitimately sending packets next year. That unfortunately only gives me one year of being qualified and sending packets before I’m 33, so working on a very compressed timeline, but…

@EricD – great to hear you’re not giving up! It only takes one squadron to say ‘yes’ to change everything and age waivers (if not hired before 33) are historically easy to get approved.
How much college do you have left? As you already know, time is not on your side, so do everything you can to expedite knocking out your credits.
Good luck…

Hello everyone, my name is Eric. I’ve been a career college dabbler, which unfortunately made my GPA suffer, and have been a project manager for my entire professional career. I moved to Denver about 2 years ago and got fascinated by the constant air traffic overhead, including the Buckley F-16s. In the course of looking into how to become…

That’s amazing, WAS! Congratulations; it seems that you are a dedicated and hard worker and earned everything you’ve achieved. I sure wish I had everything together when I was college age. Best of luck to you moving forward!

Late to the Game - Maximizing Chances
Thanks for the replies, gentlemen! I’m glad to see that someone with your experience has seen people take the scenic route, because I thought for sure that would be my downfall. The advice is much appreciated and I will get to work on implementing it.
I also see that you flew in New Orleans! Some of my earliest memories of being enamored with…

Late to the Game - Maximizing Chances
I was hoping to get some feedback on the things around the fringes that I could use to maximize the chances of being competitive to a hiring board. I’m currently 30, turning 31 in November, and due to some immaturity in my 20’s, I still have about a year and half before I graduate college, and the best GPA I could graduate with would be a…
