F-47 in 2028! 185 Copies!
The Chief say it will fly in 2028. That’s so soon and 185 copies means probably 6-8 operational squadrons plus some test and training tails. That’s awesome. Now let the food fight begin for basing! I think the Air Guard should get them first and I have on particular squadron in mind….
In all seriousness I bet you get 5 operational REGAF (Active duty) units, 1 ANG, 1 USAFR. Probably 1 Training squadron and then a hodge-podge of test tails. Now where will that metal go.
Welp, it’s super hard to say often the basing decision involves a lot of not strictly military decisions. But if I had to make speculate wildly I bet 3 squadrons go to Shaw (REGAF); the SCANG moves there and you end up with a REGAF, ANG, USAFR (480th det 1) all there as total force integration. I bet the schoolhouse goes to Holloman. The rest is hard to say, maybe Kadena…or fighters in Guam?
(as always this is just my personal opinion, I definitely do not speak for the DOD or NGB)
