Hey dude, I’m also a Navy SWO but at 3 1/2 year mark… I just took the AFOQT like 3 months ago, just got offered an interview for a squadron and a rush invite for another, it’s totally possible. From my understanding it isn’t uncommon to work conditional releases to go to UPT out of the Navy into Air guard. I’m also working hard to bail out of the SWO life for flying. Message me dude- I’m happy to help for AFOQT stuff. I studied for the AFOQT while in 4 section duty on my ship (that totally sucked lol)… it is possible tho! Did not think a Navy SWO would be able to apply or even get offered an interview, but it is!- your SWO time isn’t viewed negatively. Do highly recommend the PPL… It’ll boost your PCSM score and overall package. If you can’t get PPL get some flight hours in. I have a tad different situation because I had my PPL while I served on my sea time and I actively fly and am a little younger but it is possible to get offered a interview as a SWO!- I would reach out to the guys on bogidope that have more experience with these boards to help with your flying experience stuff, do recommend flying though. Air Force loves UPT candidates that already have a PPL- though it isn’t required, it is highly recommended. Message me if you need help!- I’m in a similar boat (no pun intended)
