I have completed my package to start applying for UPT slots with ANG units, however, I am about to PCS to a new duty station which requires a two-year service obligation and I will turn 33 just as this obligation is ending in the summer of 2026. I have heard there is up to a 1.5-year wait time to begin IFT, but my concern is that if I start applying now then I will not be released from my current branch (Marine Corps) to begin pilot training. The next option would be an age waiver if I am still applying after 33. Any wisdom from shared experiences would be greatly appreciated.
