Pretty good writeup on a new radar system for the joint force. For the Marines (an expeditionary force) and increasingly the USAF (doing ACE) having a solid air defense and ATC radar is essential. This new system combines these, plus artillery counter-battery cueing, on a 360 degree scope. Basically a one-stop-shop for controlling and protecting an airfield. BogiDopers, regardless of their path to military aviation, would benefit from this capability in the future.
