Initial Pilot Training (IPT) is AETCs plan to train 1500 pilots a year
Using public universities, such as the University of North Dakota’s (UND) flight program to provide initial flight training is the new way forward for the Air Force to meet pilot training goals. Students will receive their private, instrument, and multi-engine ratings and then will be off to their pilot training bases to finish training in the T-6 and T-38.
What’s your thoughts on whether this is a sustainable plan? Can these university flight programs handle the new influx in students?
