A question I get a lot is “How do we get fighters across the world? Do we just take them apart and ship them?”
The answer is Coronet Missions run by the Air Operations Squadron/TACC. Fighter units request support through a website (almost like ordering an uber) with dates and destinations. The AOS folks then plan and source tanker support for your movement. They will also take tactical control of the movement and coordinate along the route. These movements can be anywhere from 5-12 hours with LOTS of coordination but is also one of our greatest power projection tools.
