The loss of potential wedge tails is a big deal to military aviators. E-3s have been around since the 80’s and you can only upgrade so much before the capacity no longer can handle it. Imagine trying to support playing a PS5 game on a PS1 you merged with some components from a PS3 and PS4. This doesn’t bode well for us moving into this world of near peer threats. Hopefully NATO and DOD have something else on the docket to give us and future pilots like you the cutting edge.

NATO Cancels Plan to Buy E-7 Wedgetails

NATO will no longer buy E-7 Wedgetails to replace its aging E-3 AWACS, another blow after the USAF said it was canceling its program.
