The Escalator Starts Again
2022 again? Maybe. Each major airline is rumored to be hiring 1,500 or more pilots next year. That could mean five to seven thousand new seats industry-wide. Delta’s widebody orders are just more proof. When captains move up at the majors, FOs step into those captain seats, which then opens doors all the way down to the regionals. For your aspiring ANG/AFRC pilots, this pull into civilian cockpits will create more slots in those units. Historically, the UPT and RTU has bee the limiting factors. But right now, we’re seeing healthier pipelines and more readiness. In short—seem like the tailwinds might be picking up!
