Airline Pilot
Austin is a C-130 “Hercules” pilot currently serving in the Air National Guard. He executes tactical airlift capabilities to include airdrop missions, NVG flying, low-level flying, and aeromedical evacuation.
Austin was hired as an Air National Guard C-130 pilot as a civilian in 2019 after one year of competing in the application circuit. He commissioned through TFOTS in 2021 and attended UPT at Columbus AFB, earning his wings in 2022. Since returning from C-130 training, he has deployed to the Horn of Africa in support of Operation New Normal, in which he flew missions in support of US AFRICOM operations. He has served on multiple hiring boards as a hiring rep and will soon upgrade into the C-130 firefighting mission with one of the four Air Force squadrons that flies the MAFFS mission. For civilian employment, Austin flies the Airbus 319/320 for Allegiant Airlines.
Austin graduated from Tarleton State University with a degree in Biomedical Science and is enrolled in the University of Oklahoma’s Master of Business Administration in Aerospace and Defense. Outside of professional work, Austin’s hobbies include general aviation flying, skiing, hiking, fishing, spending time with friends and family, and traveling.
