Charlie “Smack” Meier
USAF & ANG F-16 Pilot
Former F-16 FTU IP
Hailing from a non-military background but determined to fly fighters, Smack chose to pursue a USAF commission through the US Air Force Academy. He graduated in 2012 and attended UPT at Columbus AFB before tracking to the F-16. Smack then spent the next 12 years of active duty flying the mighty Viper across Europe and the Pacific. In 2024, he transitioned to the Air National Guard and continues to fly as an F-16 instructor. He and his wife stay busy chasing their 5 kids around the mountains.
Smack developed a passion for instruction early as an aerobatic glider pilot. That passion remains with an emphasis on helping other motivated individuals carve out a career in aviation. He has particular experience as an FTU instructor and is excited to help others achieve success!
