33, Active Duty, No Scores Yet. Mailing Every UPT Unit?
Happy to help! One last thing regarding the waivers, for a head start there I would take a look at MilRecruiter under the Board Result section. If you pull those PDFs, some of them actually list what units processed age waivers or ETPs for folks. Might give you somewhere to look for places that will consider one.
Best of luck!

33, Active Duty, No Scores Yet. Mailing Every UPT Unit?
Hi Roberto,
I’m a current applicant, but can shine a bit of light here and piggyback off of Smack’s response above. When I started this process, I picked basically 10 units that were highly desirable to me, found their POC on MilRecruiter and then reached out to them. I tried to customize each email with why I was interested in that unit…

Rotor-Wing Interview Prep
Hey folks, I was looking to schedule some interview prep, but wanted to see if there were any coaches from BogiDope that were part of the Air Force rotor-wing community? I know it’s small part of Reserve and Guard aviation as a whole, but I wanted to make sure I’m covering my bases if there are any rotor-wing… Read more -

What Are My Chances of Getting an Interview? Seeking Advice
Sounds like you and I are probably targeting some of the same units! Your GPA is far and away a lot better than mine. I keep an eye on the OTS Facebook page and I think your stats are super in line with some of the 25OTS02 selects I’ve seen the last few weeks if that helps at all. Reserve/Guard will obviously vary, but I’ve treated it like a…

Hey folks,
I submitted my first few applications for Guard spots the past couple weeks and wanted to know if it’s typical to hear back one way or another from units? Trying to gauge if no news is good news, or not hearing anything back yet probably means no interview.
Thanks!

In my experience having applied at many units, it’s a crap shoot – each unit is different. You can always give them a call to see when their rush weekends are… this will give them a chance to put your face to your name which may help your application get selected. Either way – if this is what you want, don’t give up. Additionally, don’t…

I agree. 50/50 you get a call back if you are not selected for an interview. Unfortunately there is no standard practice when it comes to call backs. It is unit dependent and has a lot to do with the amount of applicants the unit receives and the amount of time the hiring POCs have to dedicate to feedback for non-selection, right or…

Makes sense! Yeah, I went through all the old board results and it looks like there were around 20 unsponsored selects over the past calendar year. I’m not sure of total number of applicants to know the what that selection rate is but it feels pretty decent.
I’m not super picky on airframe, but my wife has asked me to try as best as possible…

@luke.beer This is in line with what my recruiter has told me as well. Best of luck on the most board!
Have you started rushing units yet? I would love to hear about your experience unsponsored if you’ve started
