Allies are a must when we discuss near peer warfare, however there are times where an alliance might not be as solid as we think. This article talks about the US selling F-35s to the Saudis. From a non-policy maker perspective and a pilot this is iffy at best. The biggest issue is how new this relationship and feels like we became friends online. Selling some of our most advanced aircraft to a country that could immediately give it to an adversary if they out bid or make better offers of any kind. Still sits uneasy in my book.
