The Sniper targeting pod is one of my favorite bolt-on accessories and enables lots of platforms the ability to execute precision strikes. But now the pod may give older fighters the ability to communicate across MADL.

For the future tac aviator here, these things stick out. The basic function of a targeting pod is to see very far away in IR and visible spectrums, then correlate data on that picture. From that, it can generate coordinates or a laser spot for weapons. Think of it like a complicated rifle scope. Next, MADL would give the carrying fighter an edge in the datalink space as well. Improved communications = improved effects.
